We celebrated Veterans Day in a very special way today. The students got to tell us about their family members who have served our country. They had a lot of great things to say! Spencer brought a patch from his Paw Paw's Navy uniform. He told the class all about his Paw Paw! We sorted the veterans into their different branches and we talked about the characteristics of a veteran and what they do for our country. Each student got to write a thank you note to a veteran. I want to say a big THANK YOU to all the veterans that have served and continue to serve our country!

Readers of the week- Bailey and Victoria
Bailey and Victoria were our readers of the week this week! Baily read "If You Give a Pig a Party." The kids were laughing so hard at the illustrations in this book. They also really enjoyed predicted what the pig would want next. She likes this book because Pig gets to decorate the house!
Victoria read "Happy Pig Day!" She chose this book because she likes the characters, Gerald and Piggy.

Common and Proper Nouns
All year we have been learning about different types of nouns. We began by learning what a noun is then learning about singular and plural nouns, possessive nouns, and now proper nouns. This week, I introduced common cat and Proper Pete. As a class, we stuck common nouns on common cat and proper nouns on Proper Pete. Then each student got to put their own proper noun or common noun onto the poster.
The students also made an acrostic poem using their name and different proper nouns.
